How My Family Started Going to Daily Mass by Cameron

Hi! In this blogpost, I want to tell you the story about how my family started going to Daily Mass. It is part two in my "Daily Mass Trilogy" of blogposts.

One summer a few years back, my mom and dad started walking to daily, 6:30 a.m Mass every day. I, as a seven year old and an early riser, always wanted to come along with them, rather than stay in bed longer. I distinctly remember one time when I somehow slept in a little. I heard our kitchen door open going to the garage. Oh no you don't! I thought. I jumped out of my bunk bed, not bothering to use the ladder, and threw on some clothes (I was informed later that my shirt was inside-out and backward, my rush was so urgent). I ran upstairs, and out the kitchen, to go and wave my foot by the garage door censor to reopen the two-thirds closed garage door. I caught up with my surprised parents, calling "Wait for me!"

I was so excited to be with them, and to be able to be with Jesus every day, that I continued coming to Mass with them. Soon, my four year old little sister caught onto the whole thing, and asked my mom if she could come to Mass with us. My mom told her that she needed her sleep, and it would be hard for her to wake up early and get ready. Well, the next night that my mom went to tuck her in, Gianna said, "Mommy, look I set out my clothes. Now can I go to Mass?" So, of course, my mom could not refuse her coming.

Soon, we all started going to Mass, older siblings and all. My older sister, Autumn, started to help serving the Mass and switched off weekly with a friend. Once I had received my First Communion, there was no turning back - after I was finally able to receive Jesus every day in the Eucharist - and I was so full of happiness when we left Mass.

Fast forward a couple years, and I am now serving at Mass, my little sister has received her First Communion, we are doing a Holy Hour after Mass, and we have formed amazing friendships with the other Daily Massers! And we also love to invite others to daily Mass.

Thank you so much for reading this blogpost, and consider going to Daily Mass at a Catholic church near you! All are welcome! And stay tuned to the third and final part of my Daily Mass Trilogy: Personal Testimonies!
