Mission Partners, Moving, and Memories by Gianna
Hey everybody! Since our last update, I am very
happy to report that we are almost fully funded for our mission, thanks to
the generous donations and prayers of our friends and mission partners! (That
means many of you guys reading this post).
[Mom note: If you have pledged financial support, but have not yet set up your giving, we would love for you to do it now, so we can add you to our team of mission partners. We will also continue to schedule short appointments (in-person or via Zoom) through August to share our ministry, since we won’t be able to do that
once we’re in the field - so please reach out if you're interested! We are
excited to give everyone we can the opportunity to be a part of our team, in
order to help us serve the poor and take the gospel to the ends of the earth - which will also ensure ongoing support for our mission and maximize its fruitfulness.]
Some of you may also know that we have officially sold/closed on our house as of Friday 6/28! The two weeks before were very busy and stressful as we finished packing and getting everything out of the house. (Luckily, we took a break to visit our relatives in Ohio and have some rest and relaxation beforehand).
We are now staying with our friends, Hope and Joe, and will move to a temporary rental house (in Springfield still) after July 19. We will be staying there until we leave for Louisiana for training the first week of September.
It was so great to have my Aunt Sherri come for
a week to spend time with my mom, me and my siblings, help us pack up our last
things, and celebrate my mom’s 50th birthday. One of my favorite memories of
the week with Aunt Sherri was playing in the water with each other at our neighborhood
pool. I was so glad that she was able to come visit us.
I was also very glad to have Aunt Sherri drive me to attend Totus Tuus! Totus Tuus is basically just VBS, but a whole lot funner. It’s a whole week packed with skits, classes about vocations, the rosary, and more, with also an epic water fight to end the week and a real human sundae!* It was a blast, and I was so glad that I was able to attend.
*A human sundae is when you pick a designated person to pour sundae toppings on top of. You literally end up “sundaeing” them. All the kids take turns pouring chocolate sauce, marshmallows, and whipped cream on top of a Totus Tuus missionary. It is so much fun!
Last week our family headed off to Camp Re-NEW-All where my mom, Carson, and Autumn served as staff, and Cameron and I were campers. It’s a good place where you can learn about God and have fun with your friends. I really enjoyed all the activities that they do – especially skit night and adoration.
Well folks, that’ll be it for today. Thank you
for reading this post and stay tuned for more updates!
God bless,
Sincerely,
Very Sincerely,
Goodbye now,
Gianna
